Morning Star Stampers Workshop Swaps

These are the cards that were swapped at the October workshop. In previous posts you saw the cards we did at workshop.  Joyce used the Color Me Autumn DSP, Harriett used the tag punch, woodgrain folder and the leaf punch from Fall Fest.  Ann used the feather framelit and the curvy die to make her cute Turkey that I named LeRoy! Beth did the beautiful floral card and Linda gave us the glittery turkey on her fall card.  They are all gorgeous! I don't think my picture taking captures them as I would really like. I am not a photographer and sometimes they aren't done the justice they deserve.  Time will make me better I hope and on my Santa list this year I put I would very much like a new camera! (I hope Santa Bob reads my post), LOL! Enjoy!  Happy Stamping, Johnnie Sexton

Spooky Spooky Halloween Card

Isn't this little ghost just adorable! Who could be scared of this little fellow? Again, I used the Motley Monster Designer Series Paper (DSP) as my top layer.  Tangerine is the card base, then Basic Black and then the DSP.  The circle is cut from the 2 /12" punch and stamped with sentiment from Mingle All The Way stamp set and some of the letters are colored in with markers and layered on Basic Black card stock cut from a Starburst Framelit die.  That is why I did a picture of the sentiment so you could see how it was colored in. When placing on the DSP I wanted to make sure the eyes on the paper could be seen, the ones right next to the ghost. The ghosts eyes are punched from the Owl punch and marked with the White Chalk marker. The ghost is cut from the Fun Fall framelit dies that match the stamp set ( you can save by buying the bundle 15% savings).  I cut two...one for inside and one for the front.  I had a hard time taking picture for some reason today and had to slant the inside a little so that is what you are seeing on the Tangerine Tango to the right.  I love to finish off the inside of my cards.

Stampin'Up supplies used:

Stamps: Mingle All The way 135773( Holiday Catalog), Fall Fest Photopolymer 135194.
Cardstock: Tangerine Tango 133677, Basic Black 121045, Whisper White 100730 and Motley Monsters DSP 135819 (Holiday Catalog)
Inks: Memento Black 132708 Page 212 of annual catalog, Pumpkin Pie105115 and White Chalk Marker 132133 page 211 in annual catalog.
Accessories: Starburst Framelit Dies 132967, Circles Collection Framelit Dies 130911 and Fun Fall Framelit Dies 135856, 2 1/2" Circle punch, Owl punch for eyes 118074, Dimensionals 104330, Snail Adhesive 104332.  Enjoy!

Envelope Punch Board File Folder Card

I made a lot of file folder cards last year for Fall and Halloween and had forgotten how easy it was to do one. So, out comes the punch board and here we go!  I took a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of Crumb Cake and placed in on the punch board. Put the corner of the cardstock near the post under the punch and punch, then move that edge over to the 3" mark on board and punch, then you cut off the piece from where the tab left a valley.  I then cut 1/2" off the other side.  The sentiment on the tab is from Good Greetings and the one on the circle is from For All Things (I told you earlier this was a fav of mine).  The Color Me Autumn DSP was used for the band on card.  You will find this on page 41 of the Holiday Catalog.  The green spring was stamped in Old Olive and I stamped it off and then stamped it on the Whisper White Card Stock and then stamped the sentiment in Cajun Craze.  On the inside of the card I stamped the acorns in Crumb Cake.  The inside layer is Whipser White and measures 3 1/4" x 5". The circles are Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake and Whisper White. I used the 2 1/2" unch and then #5 and 6 (from center) of the Circle Framelit dies.

Stampin' Up supplies used are:

Stamp sets: For All Things, 135155, Good Greetings 135014 (Hostess)
Card stock: Whisper White 100730, Crumb Cake 120953, Cajun Craze 119684 and the Designer Series Paper (DSP) is Color Me Autumn 135820 page 41 of Holiday Catalog.
Ink:  Old Olive 126953, Cajun Craze 126965 and Crumb Cake 121030
Accessories:  Circle Framelits130911,  # 5 & 6 from center, Envelope Punch Board 133774 page 194, 2 1/2" Circle punch, dimensionals 104330, snail adhesive 104322.

Hope you will have an opportunity to make you some of these cards.  You can purchase any product you need from my online store.  Just click on catalog in sidebar and Stampin' Up will deliver your goodies right to your door.

Candy Treat Holder

This cute little treat holder was on You Tube by Papercraft Button and I thought it was so cute that I just had to do it.  I like making these little things for the little 2 year old that lives next door.  It doesn't matter how silly it is Shayna will like it.  She is a great audience! LOL!  I used the Squares Scalloped die to make the base and scored it at 1 1/2" to make fold.  I didn't take a picture of the back but is has the matching DSP as on the front of the holder.  That is optional, especially if you are trying to make your DSP go further. These pieces measure: for flap 4" x 1 1/8" and the back is 4 x 2 3/4", 10"  of the two tone twine and I knotted it under the flap.  I punched holes with the 1/8" hold punch and used the 4 x 6" cellophane bags listed in the book on page 200 of annual catalog.  The sentiments are from the Good Greetings stamp set that you get for free when you place a $300 order or if you are the hostess in a group and you make the $300 minimum.  I punched the sentiment out with the Modern Label punch.  As you can see I filled them with way to much candy, oh well...whose counting! After you have layered your DSP then go in with the hole punch as far as you can and that will insure that they are even.  We will be doing this one in our October workshop.  Stampin'Up supplies used were:

Stamps: Good Greetings 135014
Card stock: Tangleo Twist 133677, Bermuda Bay 131197, Whisper White 100730 and Motley Monster DSP 135819 on page 45 of the Holiday Catalog.
Ink: Momento Black 132708
Accessories: Squares Collection Dies 130921, White & Tanerine Tango Two-tone Trim 135838 on page 45 of the Holiday Catalog, 1/8" hole punch 134365, snail adhesive 104332, redline tape 104294. Use this to hold the bags inside the flap.  Hope you enjoy and get the chance to make some of these cuties.  Click on the sidebar to go to the online store if you need to purchase any of these products!

Give Thanks or All Things

Fall is in the air here and leaves are falling everywhere and I hear some folks have already had snow...brrrrrrr! We have had a few cold days and I realize as I get older the cold is hard to take.  I never use to wear a coat but I sure do now!

This set of stamps is one of my all time favorites For All Things 135155 in the Holiday Catalog on page 41. The new colors of ink help make it look like Fall.  I cut the Very Vanilla card base 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and the layers are as follows starting with bottom layer: Hello Honey  4" x 5 1/4", Blackberry Bliss 3 3/4" x 5" and Very Vanilla 3 1/2 x 4 3/4". The ovals were cut with the Ovals Collection dies #2 and 3 from center of stack. The leaves were stamped with the New in colors and Old Olive. The acorns were stamped with Soft Suede(kinda hard to see)  and senitment was stamped with Blackberry Bliss ink. On the inside of the card I stamped the acorns in Soft Suede.

Stampin' Up supplies used were:

Stamp set: For All Things 133155 page 41 of Holiday Catalog
Ink: Black Berry Bliss 133642, Hello Honey 133643, Pumpkin Pie 126945, Old Olive 126953, Soft Suede 126978.

Silhouette Cameo First Real Project

These are some of projects I have been working on.  I have a lot of work to do to catch up on how to do monograms. These are done in white vinyl and are filled with candy.  My grands are giving these to their secret pals that run cross country with them.  They will be doing Mac Conference this Monday if the weather holds for them and then the oldest grand will go to the State Meet in Hendersonville, NC.  Bob and I are so proud of both of them. This is Makayla's first year and Megan's 3rd year. They wanted the final gift they give before reveal time to be special and this is what they wanted to do. They do a Bible verse for each gift they give and this is the one they chose to do::

I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.
Philippians 4:13

We wish the entire team at Westminister Catawba Christian School the best this Monday at MAC Conference!

Happy Fall Ya'll,

Blendabilities and the endless possibilities!

I thought this might be a good time to talk about Blendabilities again since we have so many pretty images for Fall and Christmas. Stampin'Up has put out this new information.  They are giving us a list of the Classic Inkpads they work well with and if you don't see a color on the list it means they smear when using the blendabilities with them.  Hope you enjoy the videos and make note of the information.

Stampin' Blendabilities

Stampin' Blendabilities Markers are exclusive, alcohol-based marker sets that come in a 3-pack of light, medium, and dark shades (of the same color), and provide your projects a more saturated look with blended colors. We recommend using Stampin' Up! Whisper White Cardstock with your Stampin' Up! Blendabilities, but choosing any one of our cardstocks will add a unique look to your project. We also recommend that you only use them with ink pads from our list of compatible pads. And because traditional alcohol markers require a bit of training, we've developed a few videos to ensure that Blendabilities are easy-to-use for everyone! You can view our Blendabilities video below.

What Sets Them Apart:
  • The Stampin' Up! rectangular barrel keeps your markers from rolling away.
  • Flat storage helps to maintain the life of each marker.
  • Each marker comes with a tip on each end: brush and fine.
  • Marker tips are made of nylon, which is superior to polyester which can fray.
  • Color-coded caps.
  • Stampin' Up! markers coordinate wonderfully with our cardstock and can be used with transparent sheets.
Stampin' Blendabilities are designed to work with our Memento Ink Pad. The markers also work well with several of our Classic Stampin' Pads, noted below. Keep in mind that colors not listed are prone to smearing and aren't recommended for use with Stampin' Blendabilities. Also, remember that you'll get the best blending results using Whisper White Cardstock and when the stamped image is completely dry.

Gift Box Punch Board!

New! Gift Box Punch Board Maker by Stampin' Up!!!

This is my first project with the NEW Punch Board Box maker and I had a great time making this little gift for a friend.  I just followed the instructions on the board and made this box.  I used the Tag Topper punch (133324) to make the band that goes around the box.  My Whisper White (100730) was cut at 8 x 8 and the band was cut from Brights Designer Series Paper Stack (130134) at 10" x 2" and each end was punched.  Instead of laying the ends flat and putting ribbon in it, I pinched the two ends together and tied my ribbon and placed my tag through the cutouts in the end of the tags.  I did use some snail to hold the sides of the band in place. I used the Label Bracket to punch the saying (132153) and the stamp is a retired set.The layer under it is the decorative label punch (120907) using Tangelo Tango cardstock (111349). The ribbon is some I had on hand. As you can see by the other picture that it is filled with delicious Hersheys white and dark chocolate bars. Stampin' Up has a video showing you how versatile the box punch can be.  I will post it at the bottom of the blog.  If you need any of the supplies please visit my online store to purchase the product and have it delivered right to your door. These boxes can be used for many purposes.  Jewelry, money, candy, keys for a new car (Oh Yeah! I'm dreaming), love notes and 3 x 3 cards and envelopes,,,,,,,uses are endless!

Happy Stamping, Johnnie
