Tic Tac Toe Travel Bag

This little travel bag has 6 X's and O's in it and makes a great game for kids and/or teenagers to play while traveling.  The muslin bags are from Stampin' Up and the vinyl on the blocks is from Expressions Vinyl and the Heat Transfer Vinyl on the bags is from Silhouette.  The little block came from Hobby Lobby about 1/2" in size.  the bag was marked 0.5625 in. As you can see I did the words TIC TAC TOE differently on each bag.  These are going to a church bazaar in November and I didn't want them to think they were buying them all alike.  Loved making this project.  I made 9 at one sitting.  The pattern for the bags and blocks came from a lady on my Silhouette Cameo group.  She was so nice to share.  Have fun making yours!

The ribbon is Whisper White Seam Binding and the Thick Cherry Cobblers Baker's Twine was used to hold the white ribbon together. The sentiment is from the stamp set in new Holiday Catalog called  Oh, What Fun!!!

Merry Christmas Card Envelope lined

This card is from a card swap I was in and is just adorable.  No details on it.  I know Seasons of Style Designer Series Paper was used along with the stamp set from last years Holiday mini.  Very Vanilla card stock along with Crumb Cake card stock was used.  Click on it to enlarge to see it better. Cherry Cobbler ink was used for sentiment and Cherry Cobbler was used for the heart. Please notice the envelop it is lined with the same paper.  So cute!!!

Christmas In July!!

This is a card I have been wanting to do when I came back from recouping from surgery. When I made my last post...the darn computer started acting up and I couldn't post. Had to send it to the computer doc. So, I decided to go ahead and make some Christmas cards while waiting on the computer to come back.  The pic isn't that grand but I will work on that.

Supplies:

Stamps:  Festival of Trees 135059 page 71 of annual catalog.
Inks: Cherry Cobbler 126966, Garden Green 126973, and Gold metallic (retired)
Paper: Whisper White 100730, Gold Foil sheets 132622 for stars page 148
Accessories: Star punch from Itty Bitty Accents Punch pack 133787 page 166, tree embossing folder is retired, dimensionals 104330 for layering the trees and card front.
note: the tree stamp was stamped on inside with no ornaments

I have a couple more I hope to get posted.  The new Holiday Day catalog has me in its spell.

MIA but I'm Back

I have been gone for a couple of weeks due to surgery on my knee.  Life is back to normal and I have been able to get in my craft room.  I wanted to do this cute project I saw on Pinterest while I was recuperating.  My granddaughter loaned me her IPad, so I would have some entertainment during my down time.  I made a box to hold some of the Christmas cards I wanted to get started on.  The cards are A2 and I just layered some Christmas DSP from Stampin' Up and cut a strip of Real Red to go across the top of the DSP and then I used the 2 3/8" scallop punch on Real Red cardstock and a 2" Whisper White circle punch.  I stamped off the tree in Old Olive and stamped it on the circle and then stamped the sentiment in Real Red over the tree.  I used Festival of Tree stamp set on the cards.  The box is made from a video I saw on Pinterest.  This lady has a wonderful site and I hope you will visit it and make the box to hold your cards, tags, etc. Whatever you need a box for.  Decorate it anyway you want. Please visit here to see the video and I hope you have fun making this fun project.  You could also make the boxes and label them with different cards in it for future use.  Just have fun.  She is a very thorough arts/craft person.  Check out her complete blog.

John's Moneyholder

This one was made for my son-in-law. This money holder was also made on the Silhouette as was the celebrate.   I used Crumb Cake and Basic Black cardstock from SU.  This cardstock cuts so nice on the Cameo.  I used Tombow Glue to put the letters on the front and used circle punches to make the little button and tied some rafia thread in the holes.  Really quick and simple as I said in the previous entry.  This file can be purchased at the Silhouette for only .99 cent.  It is so much fun to work on the Cameo.  Life just simpler in the craft department for me.  Hope you will make some.

Makayla's Birthday Card moneyholder

This little moneyholder was made for our granddaughter that is turning 12 (going on 20).  She was at the beach on her birthday so we didn't get to see her.  When she came home she got this with her birthday money in it.  She loves the color pink as you can see by the color chosen for the card.  The holder was from a cut file on Silhouette Cameo Store and the numbers and saying were also cute from images from the Silhouette Store.  This helps making the card so easy.  Glitter was also used to fancy it up some. I think she will like this alot.  If you don't have a Silhoutte and have been thinking about getting one, don't hesitate any longer.  It is really worth having and saves a lot of time in making cards, vinyl sayings and making stencils to etch on glass.  I just love, love, love my Silhouette!  LOL!

Sketch Challenge

I joined a sketch challenge this month and this is what I came up with.  I used the new in-colors for most of the card.  Watermelon Wonder is the base card and for the next two layers Cherries on Top Designer Series Paper Stack were used along with the inks and Watermelon Wonder Lace Trim ribbon for the knot bow.  I cut the two layers on top at 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 and the top layer at 2 1/2 x 3 1/2, the tag was cut two inches at first and put in the tag topper punch and then I cut it down a little more to suit me.  The sentiment is from Sprinkles of Life stamp set in Watermelon Wonder with the sprinkles on the tag done in Watermelon Wonder, Delightful Dijon, Cucumber Crush and Bermuda Bay. Dimensionals were used to pop the tag on top
and glue dots were used on the ribbon.  The second picture shows the sentiment better.  On the inside is Happy Birthday.  I am in the middle of having to make quite a few birthday cards and was glad this sketch came along.

Supplies:

Stamp Set:  Sprinkles of Life (This set is the one if you buy SU will donate $3 to Ronald McDonald House) Love that idea!!
C/S: Watermelon Wonder 138334, Cherries on Top DSP 138443, Whisper White 100730.
Ink: Watermelon Wonder 138323, Delighful Dijon 138327, Cucumber Crush 138324
Accessories: Dimensionals 104330, Snail Adhesive 104332, Glue Dots 103683

This was a quick and easy card to make and I hope you will make some.

Butterfly Basics Birthday Cards

Butterfly Basic Stamp set is my all time favorite. You can use one or two of the stamps in the set or you can use all of them.  I have made multiple cards with this set.  Only 3 colors of ink was used on this card.  I used the stamp off method to make the colors lighter for background effect. On the background Whisper White card stock the stamp that looks a little like chicken wire was used with Sahara Sand ink and stamped off. This was done on the entire piece of white.  Then the ferns were stamped with Old Olive ink..you stamp the dark one then keep stamping off to get the lighter ones. The flower and butter fly were stamped with Elegant Eggplant ink using the same method.  The date stamp you can barely see behind the butterfly wing is stamped off and then stamped.  You can't see them real well, but I used rhinestones on the center of butterfly and in center of each little flower.  For the inside and I forgot to take a picture before sealing envelope is the saying from Remembering your Birthday stamp set. Truly easy card...it took about 20 minuted to do 2.

A list of supplies used:

Stamp sets: Butterfly Basics 137154 and inside Remembering Your Birthday 131350
Cardstock: Whisper White 100730, Elegant Eggplant 105126
Ink: Elegant Eggplant 105210, Old Olive 126953, Sahara Sand 126976
Accessories: Butterfly Thinlits 137360, Rhinestones 119246, dimensionals 104330, snail adhesive 104332

This is cased not in its entirety from a card on Pinterest...please visit my card board and you will see the one I semi-copied.

Candy Jars for Father's Day Gifts

The candy jars were the perfect idea for the guys with a "Sweet Tooth". The designs were purchased in the Silhouette and changed around some to fit each person.  One likes Laffy Taffy and for the other one Reese's peanut butter cups.  The jars were purchased at Walmart and the vinyl is from Expressions Vinyl.  Black and Red were used for the jars.  The flourish is also from the Silhouette Store  This shows you the versatility of  some of the designs you can play with from the Silhouette Store.  I think the "Sweet Tooth" problem has been met.  For the Laffy Taffy it took two bags and for the Reese's it took 4 bags.  Makes for a nice gift that will look okay sitting on the counter in your kitchen.

Birthday Candles!

These were made for my sister and a friend that share the same birthday.  The candles are from Walmart.  Purple and Silver vinyl was used for the monograms.  They were bought from the Silhouette Store and the vinyl is from Expressions Vinyl.  You just have to measure the jar and then make the design to fit and Woot! Woot!  you have a cute gift! The candles are Vanilla Fragrance. Love the Silhouette Cameo.

Storage Box Bag

Hey ya'll, I trust you had a nice long weekend and are ready to get back crafting!!! I know I am.  Out of the kitchen and into the craft room.  The project today came from Bonnie Carington and she has a video on her site and on You Tube. This is just so stinking cute and you may see more of them on on my site in the future.  You take a Wood mount box from Stampin' Up and cut your DSP or plain cardstock to 11 1/4 X 7 and the the two strips are 11 1/4 X 1".  Copy your handles on the copy machine and use these as guides.  You will need a screw driver, drill, pull drawer handle, snail adhesive and whatever you want to embellish with.  I chose to put my last initial on this one by cutting it from Bermuda Bay with my Silhouette.  The DSP used is from Stampin' Up and is called Birthday Bash (retired). You want your strips to come up under the handles just like it is a suitcase.  That is why you take a handle and copy where the holes are on your copy machine or however you feel is best for you.  You lay this pattern at the top of your sheet of 11 1/4 X 7 paper and adhere your strips.  Then you take this and put it in your case being careful as to not cut the plastic.  When you watch Bonnie's video it will come together for you.  The handle is put on the back spine of the box. You can make a !st Aid Kit, Sewing Kit, Makeup case, Pencil Box, Tool Box, Crayon Travel Box for kids, etc.  Just have fun!!!Click here to go to Stamp Happy Honey blogspot.  She has a lot of other wonderful things for you to look at.

Back Scratcher Gifts

I found these in the cosmetic dept of Walmart and thought they would be cute monogrammed for Father's Day. So, here they are!!!  I used the font Times Roman and Loki Cola for the monograms with Black Vinyl from Expressions Vinyl.  They were not expensive and make such a cute gift.  They are extendable. I put the package with it so if you are looking for them you can identify pretty quick. So easy to do and quite cute, I think.

Father's Day Card

I used some retired Modern Medley DSP and made strips of varying sizes with it and put them on scrap cardstock.  The twine was wrapped around the top layering piece and the strips were put on with dimensionals.  The sentiment is from a Paper Pumpkin Kit I got last year.  Love these kits.  Simple and easy and you can use any sentiment with this layout.  Change up the colors of the DSP and you have a cute card.

Cased Thank You!

This card was on Pinterest and I liked the clean lines of it so much I just had to case it.  The Sentiment is from the Stampin' Up Stamp Set..Something to Say 134180. The paper used for the banner has retired, Back to Black as well as the Flower Punch and Stamp Set for the flower.  I just wanted to make this because it was so clean and crisp looking.  And an added bonus is I had all the stuff to do it with.  The leaves were made with Old Olive and the same punch as the flower called "Blossom" punch.  Hope you like and please visit Pinterest and look at my boards.  I can't remember who made it but I just love it.

Swap Cards

i received these cards in a swap a couple of weeks ago.  They are so pretty and I wanted to show them so you could enjoy them too!  Notice the Pink Pirouette and Smoky Slate card..the doily has had part of it cut out so it will give a different look and she used a medallion sticker. The Basic Black card with Sahara Sand and some of the DSP from the Sale-a-bration catalog and the Back to Black DSP that two rows of pearls were layered on.  I just love this effect. The Pear Pizzaz Card with Whipser White and the sentiment is stamped in Smoky Slate.  These are some cute cards and I will be swapping again with these ladies in the near future.  Hope you enjoy!

Wedding Cards

These cards were made with Basic Black and Very Vanilla Cardstock.  The sentiments are from stamps sets by Stampin' Up called Your Perfect Day137160 and For the New Two 138562 and embossing folder Lovely Lace 133737. Pearls and black rhinestones were used for embellishments.  The ribbon is some I had on hand and it is a cream color.  The Deco Labels Colletion framelits, Label Love, and Apothecary framelits were used to make the shapes for sentiments.  For the inside I made a bell shape on my Silhouette Cameo in Very Vanilla and stamped a sentiment on it from the two different stamp sets listed above.  Easy and quick.

Father's Day Gifts

We decided to do some hammers for the men in the family.  The grands wanted to choose the sayings and this is what they came up with.  I used Black, Purple and Pastel Orange 631 vinyl for the project. The fonts are Blenda Script, Black Boys on Mopeds, and Andulas.  We even made one for my little neighbor to give her Dad.  These were fun to make and I hope you will go on Pinterest and check the others out.  I bought the hammers at Harbor Freight.  The vinyl is from Expressions Vinyl.

Sketch Challenge Card

I have been missing in action for a couple of days.  My grands are out of school and I have been enjoying them.  We went shopping and worked on their golf cart.  They will be leaving for the beach soon.  So, no crafting has been going on.  This card was made for a sketch challenge I entered.  The woodgrain embossing folder was used for the top layer and then I used Back to Black DSP for the large circle, Basic Black and Whisper White for the other two circles.  I used the circle collection by SUI.  The stamp set was Wetlands and I used two of the images plus birthday stamp all from same set. The two strip going across are about 1/2" and are on top of one another and they are layered on top of the DSP circle and the other two are put on with dimensionals.  You can never have enough masculine cards.  To me they are the hardest to make.  Have fun!

Graduation Cards

My twin neighbors are graduating next week from York Comprehensive High School in York, SC and these are the cards I made for them with a little cash inside.  The envelopes are from April's My paper Pumpkin  Kit.  The cards are cut to fit and I used two different stamp sets, Blue Ribbon and Pure Gumption.  Can't remember where the Congratulations came from, but it fit.  The stars were punched from the Itty Bitty Paper Punch set and the hat on the outside was cut with my Silhouette!.  The saying on the front is "The tassel was worth the hassle" in case you can't see it. For the card I used Basic  Black, Brushed Silver and Whisper White card stock.  Momento Black ink was used for images. I think it turned out pretty neat and I hope they will like them.  Below is a picture of the front and inside of card.

Any questions please email me!

Sketch Card

This card was done for a sketch I wanted to join. The card stock for the base of card is  Strawberry Slush and the ink on the sentiment HI is Strawberry Slush ink.  Different colored strips were cut and ends flagged and adhered to card in varying lengths.  Flowers were punched in same colors and glue dotted to the card and rhinestones were added to the center of each flower.  The layered DSP is from All Abloom 133703, retiring June 2nd.  For the flowers I used the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack 133787. I think this turned out to be a very colorful cards. Pistachio Pudding, Whisper White, Blushing Bride and Daffodil Delight card stock was used for the banners or flags (don't know what every one calls them.) I hope you enjoy and remember the new catalog will go live on June 2nd.  If you need any of the retiring product you must act fast because it is first come first gets it.

Birthday Day Gift Card Holder

I got this idea for a gift card holder on Dawn's Stamping Thoughts site.  There is no gluing at all on this card.  It is just a matter of how you fold it.  Then  I used the stamp set Balloon Bash 137144  that was in the summer mini and will be available only until June 2nd.  We have two new ones coming out in the new annual catalog that would be perfect for sentiment and that is Amazing Birthday and Birthday Blossoms. These will be available June 2nd.  Back to Black DSP 133700 was used to fold into gift card holder.  Whisper White 100730 was used for the sentiment and it was stamped twice once in Black Momento 132708 and then again in Real Red ink and the Celebrate was cut out and dimensions were used to place it on the Whisper White card stock.  I think it turned out real cute and I hope you will go to Dawn's site and check her out here ! She has some wonderful video's!

Congrats Wedding Card

Another wedding card with a different take on it from the one I posted on May 5th on my blog.  I used the same stamp set, Your Perfect Day.  Night of Navy and Whisper White with little flowers in Pink Pirouette.  I just really like this stamp set.  This is an A2 card!  As you can see I didn't use the Pink Pirouette down the middle. On the inside I used the #5 of the Labels framelit (counting from the middle) and stamped the leaves and glued a punched flower to it.  The Labels framelit on the front is the # 3 (from the middle) and I stamped the sentiment on the Whisper White and cut it out with framelit and then cut a Night of Navy with same framelit and just turned it another way after embossing it with the Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder.  The strip down the middle was also embossed with same folder.  Turned out to be a cute card in my book.  Hope you will make some of them.  The wddding season is upon us.  I have 2 invites already.  Love weddings!!

Happiness Jar!!!

Another wonderful idea my grand came up with is the Happiness Jar!  You make the label with saying and then take little pieces of paper and write different things on it and put them in the jar. When Mom or friend is having a bad day they can pull out a happy thought to make them smile.  She is such a caring little grand and love s to make things.  I am not her real grandmother, (step grandmother but have known her since birth), but I think I really instilled in her the love of crafts.  On the lid I did MOM in yellow vinyl from Expressions Vinyl.  The flower label was cut from a  flower punch by Stampin' Up and is retiring. The sun stamped in Daffodil Delight is from a stamp set by Stampin' Up called Kinda Eclectic.  One of my favorite sets.  The yellow ribbon is some from my stash. I put a Dafffodil Delight yellow band around the middle of the jar and glued the flower to it.  Here is a pic of the top of the lid. Pam really liked her gift!  Said she couldn't wait to see what Makayla had written on each sheet.   Really simple and easy project and so meaningful!    Happy Crafting!  Johnnie Sexton

Love Grows Here!

My 12 year old granddaughter loves Pinterest and she wanted me to make her Mom a pot for her birthday.  Very thoughtful young pre-teen.  She saw something like this and I went to work.  I don't have to many fonts yet but I came up with something close.  She liked as did her Mom and that is all that counts.  It is a Navy colored pot from Walmart and I used white vinyl from Expressions Vinyl 651.  I bought the heart pattern from the Silhouette Store and used Frosting for Breakfast for the L, and ve, Comic Sans for the grows and Sylfaen for the Here.  On the rim I put each family members name.  The grands names are on the back. Such a fun project.  Give it a try!!

Kindness You Show

This is a card I received from a lady in Kansas.  She used the Lotus Blossom Stamp set and Sentiment.  It looks like Mossy Meadow Whisper White and Blackberry Bliss card stock and ink was used along with Blackberry Bliss.   I do not know what the DSP is in the background. Just a beautiful card and I really appreciate it Jennifer P.  You are amazing!  Thank you so much. Maybe if Jennifer sees this she will let me know.  The Lotus Blossom set was out during Sale-a-bration and is no longer available.  Let's hope they bring it out sometime again.

Sending Good Thoughts

This card was done for a sketch challenge using Back to Black DSP, Whisper White 100730 and Real Red 102482 and Real Red ribbon.  Stamped sentiment with Black Momento ink 132708. The sentiment is from the stamp set Perfect Pennants 133230 and will be in the annual catalog in June. I used the scallop edge punch that is retiring.   I really like this sketch. Very simple. Oh! yeah and I added some rhinestones to the top and bottom.,  If you need a quick card this would be a good one.  Have a great day!
